Over the past few months, Copenhagen-based design studio 91-92 and I have been working on a product I first prototyped two years ago. 3D printed using post-industrial recycled plastic, this is the first edition of the In the Clouds Floating Bookshelf. An exploration into new ways of displaying books within the home.

Floating Bookshelf
Process notes
01.
Working across Melbourne and Copenhagen meant this project started with a video call. I proposed the concept to Weibo and Zeyu from 91-92 and we began discussing what the product could look like.
02.
We discussed conceptual ideas and began prototyping. Zeyu created our cloud-like shape in Blender.
03.
Prototyping began. Recycled plastic, translucent filament can be difficult to work with so we iterated to create the final product.
04.
We connected with our retail partner in Melbourne, Saloon Store, to organise an exhibit of our work.
05.
As of May 3rd the In the Clouds Floating Bookshelf is available for sale with limited availability.
